Commissions Open AlwaysEven though I have unlimited slots, you must be willing to be PATIENT. I have a list, but I tend to do the commissions that interest me the most first, though I do my best to go via who paid first or has been waiting the longest.
I have the right to increase the price of the commission if I feel like what was requested is more work than the base price listed.
I will draw
Couples (both homosexual and heterosexual)
Ecchi, soft sexual themes (Nudes / Naked cuddling)
Anything not mentioned above, I will not draw
Paypal or points only
I do not start until after I am paid
Refunds are picky. We can talk about it, though, if you are unhappy with waiting
I try to do commissions in the order at which I received payment, but I tend to do them from what interests me most
Exercise 18: Painterly StyleTHIS WEEK's EXERCISE POST : THE FULL POST AND DETAILS
The “painterly style” has been a highly requested tutorial subject matter due to it’s increasing popularity to digital artists. Not sure what this style is referring to? Check out the Painterly Style Reference Board. The style has become even more popular from games that focus heavily on this art style such as Bastion or to digital artists like Purplekecleon, who we Interviewed last year. It has a bold and fresh look that relies on color and working with balancing the different hues to create value. The style is recognizable by 3 different factors: use of color shifting, visible brushstrokes, and fantastical ligh

One of the things I hate about the internet is that everything must be quantifiable. Without a proper source, no one will believe you, no matter how reliable your original info was when you received it. It doesn't matter if you heard it from a professor giving a lecture in college, if you read it in a book, read a report by a scientist, or saw a documentary that went into elaborate detail... if there isn't an internet equivalent, then you're seen as a compulsive liar.
Case in point, recently someone mentioned that my sketches look better than my finished artwork and I responded by telling them that there was science that helped back up why that phenomenon exists. But since I couldn't remember the source, I got trolled hardcore for saying that. Today, however, I stumbled upon a close enough equivalence. Here's a quote:
The sketchiness of line art mimics the natural lack of clarity in our peripheral vision. When we look at the real wo

You always need to:
Credit me & link back to THIS account. THIS account, not my main account. Reason: people tend to follow the link to look for stock when linked to an account in a stock list, but there is no stock on my main account! For linking on dA see :faq81:.Please show me what you've done! You can note me or comment on the image or on my front page, I don't care. If you don't have a dA account, please e-mail me at kuschelirmelgmailcom. NEW: you can also rely on the new mentions system, just remember that for this to work, my username must be linked either via :devkuschelirmel-stock:, :iconkuschelirmel-stock: or by adding the thumb of the resource you used (don't know yet if links to the deviation page work, too). If you want to make sure I get your message and leave a fave, you are welcome to do this the old-fashioned way (comment or note).

Summer Artist Feature If you like this feature please add it to your s !
So a few weeks ago, I asked some people to show me their best work and I would do daily features of some of the artists that I feel may not have the exposure that they deserve.
I will feature about 10-15 artist. I hope you guys like the artist and their works and will go give them some love! And if you like their stuff, watch!
Today's featured artist is :iconavvyraptor:
Avvyraptor is an artist based in Bulgaria. She is an active member of Deviantart, Instagram, and tumblr to name a few. Her commissions are open and she is incredibly talented, and her work is fun and inspiring!
So you've decided to talk to an artistHey everybody, this is going around over on tumblr, but I feel like it's just as relevant here and it's a really good informational post for people that have/want to have good dealings and interactions with online artists. Because seriously, these are really good things to know. (I mean, I've been pestered by almost all of these at some point or another, and if people had read these they might have saved me a lot of annoyance) So give it a read if you'd like. The original post comes from www.phantom42.tumblr.com
Don’t tell an artist, “SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!" or "I would totally buy that!" if you’re not ready and/or willing to back it up with an actual purchase. Artists love that you love the piece, but often produce pieces/quantities based on apparent interest and potential customers. Gauges of potential buyers and gauges of general interest are both very important, but they are very different.

Helpful Habits for CommissionersA lot of people have been asking me to write up something on the topic of taking and pricing commissions like I did with conventions, so here you go!
So what is a commission? If you didn't already know, a commission in way I will be discussing is when a person pay for an artist to draw them something. Neato, right? Money for art, couldn't be better.
Well there are a few catches to this art thing professionally and non-professionally; especially on an amateur level. First off, you wont get paid nearly what you should be getting paid...so if your motivation is money... you should pick a different field of interest. Second, you need to build your people skills. Third money management is key. Fourth, time management or cry in a corner.
Let's discuss the first point, not getting paid enough! Illustrators and professional artists in the industry are currently getting paid the same rates as they were 50 years ago... the exact same. Inflation has not touched the art field so we are making less
